Mark Evans

Mark Evans’s eBay auction for a High Voltage gold record has ended. Bidding started at AU$495.00 and ballooned to a whopping final AU$4,200.00, about US$4,400.00. This was a charity auction to help an Australian soccer squad travel to an international competition; looks like the Sydney Secondary College girls team will soon be on its way to Hawaii.

The highest bidder will also receive a signed copy of Evans’ autobiography Dirty Deeds: My Life Inside/Outside of AC/DC. While the soccer stars are sinking goals in Hawaii, the lucky bidder will be  engrossed in Mark’s insider account of the classic first years of AC/DC’s rise from Aussie pub band to international superstars. Hey, they don’t hand out gold records for nothin’—it’s a long way to the top.

Dirty Deeds: My Life Inside/Outside of AC/DC is available in pulp or digital form here.
