Thanks to everybody who sent over the stripped DLR vocal from “Runnin’ With the Devil” this week. All of you. Thanks. And you and you and you. I appreciate it. I feel a little guilty for not already warping it on top of a dancehall riddim. But Eric Haugen has synced the naked Roth with this 1978 Van Halen promo video shot at the Whiskey. Great!

This sound clip is awesome. If you listen closely you can hear him tap his foot and snap his fingers while he’s singing. Legendary.

I love the slide whistle! I never noticed that, or realized that Roth was adding it live in his vocal track.

Hi just came here by way of IGBLOG-cool site! This is a really cool clip! I had never heard of this before. Like rob said-you can hear DLR keeping time and other stuff you can’t hear with the full-on track!
