I’m working on a metal logos book with the mighty Mark Riddick, and he turned me onto this insanesterpiece, the logo for Hermaphrodite Jihad by Lou Rusconi. Riddick has never heard the band, and wherever these sickos are hiding it’s one of those places beyond the reach of Google. Possibly in the American Midwest, where head cheese pleases babies and grandmas, but I dunno. Do you? The bewildering logo has an almost unlimited narrative living in its characters. I’d love to know more about any band that could rise to this occasion!
One of the best logos ever.
That is indeed one epic logo. Someone could live in it.
I figured the ‘Song For Bildo’ logo would be killer for this book
Hermaphrodite Jihad is a side project created by James Powell (a.k.a. Screaming Jim, who plays guitar in Fucksaw and Screaming Afterbirth (till they broke up)) and his friend Ryan (new vocalist of Fucksaw). The band is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. James is playing guitar and programming the drums, Ryan is the vocalist. They are currently recording a demo, after that they want to start looking for a real drummer. Their demo is supposed to be released as a split with the German bands Electro Toilet Syndrom, but it’s not yet clear if that’s going to happen.
Their stuff is supposed to be pretty fast, old school inspired grindcore similar to Agoraphobic Nosebleed. They are using an Iraq war centred theme for the band, because Ryan was in Iraq for some time and returned a couple of weeks ago. So I guess song titles and lyrics (if they’re gonna use any) will be all around the Iraq war.
If you want some more info on the band, let me know. But basically that’s pretty much all Jim told me so far.
hi-ya, I view all your writings, keep them coming.
Why do I feel so naughty right now?
mMmmm
