That’s funny: I saw Metallica/Exodus and some band called Murder on 11/27/82 at the Old Waldorf, which was a Monday (“Metal MondaY”) sponsored by KROQ 97.3 – the price of the ticket was $3.97 and we walked in the pouring rain from Civic Center to Battery Street. (It was one of the wettest winters in the Bay Area). I was 16 at the time, and the only one of my friends with a car, so I got to drive. I had no clue about SF so ended up parking what seemed like a mile away. The Stage was about 1 foot tall, and we sat on the edge during the whole show. It was my first metal show, and my second live show ever. I still have the ticket. Metallica headlined.

I wasn’t there for this show, but I was there for many of the ones illustrated in the book, even spotted one of my friends that I went to many of the shows with in one of the Testament concert photos. The book represents what I grew up with! \m/
