Bazillion Points author Tesco Vee has friends in high places, no doubt, but who knew Stephen King was listening to Tesco’s early Touch and Go Records releases while banging out classic horror novel after classic horror novel in the early 1980s? Bassist Danny Dirtbag from Tesco’s band the Meatmen recognized the Carrie/Cujo/Shining author at a Vermont truck stop yesterday, and asked for a photo. King’s eyes lit up when he saw Dan’s shirt: “We’re the Meatmen and you suck! I own all the records!” (But what about the Touch and Go book?)

Later that day, King was named Hollywood’s most powerful author, a far second-place thrill compared to meeting a real-life man of Meat, no doubt!
