At 7PM on Monday, March 2, Kim Gordon brings her national book tour to Seattle. She will sit down with Sub Pop USA author/Sub Pop founder Bruce Pavitt at the the Neptune (1303 NE 45th Street) to discuss her memoir, Girl in a Band

“Kim tells her story of life as an artist and as one of the first women of rock and roll. As a founding member of Sonic Youth, she and the band played an integral role in building a vocabulary of music – paving the way for Nirvana, Hole, Smashing Pumpkins and many other acts. Gordon opens up as never before, examining the route from girl to woman in uncharted territory – music, art career, marriage, motherhood, what partnership means – and what happens when that identity dissolves.”
