While neighboring Sweden, Norway, and Finland reign in metal glory, proud Denmark also boasts a powerful metal legacy. Situated between Scandinavia and Germany, Danish bands like Mercyful Fate, Artillery, Illdisposed, and Invocator have woven together Nordic darkness with Teutonic precision. Sample highlights of the above bands, plus Konkhra, Pretty Maids, Rimfrost, Volbeat, and a special guest appearance in Mercyful Fate by Metallica’s well-known Danish drummer, Lars Ulrich. Know your Roots!

  1. Hey Ian, how are you. I very much enjoy your weekly show on liquid metal. To me it is the highlight of the Sirius radio and your passion brings the music you play to life. I remember when you played the first arch enemy singer when you played the song bury me an angel, that is my favorite arch enemy song and hearing the way you present it made it that much more awesome.

My comment is one the band Rimfrost is Swedish, there is a Danish one; however, the Danish one you played was broken up for many years now.

My second comment is I was looking for the spot to send you an email for a request for your show. I would love for you to play Greek black metal or American Black Metal. Both are extremely underrated scenes, or even the Dutch death metal scene as that scene is underrated as well.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comment and for the awesome show you always play.
