This week ROOTS hails 40 years of Iron Maiden’s huge Powerslave album, going track by track with rarities, live material, and tributes by Arch Enemy, Rhapsody of Fire, Testament, and Anaal Nathrakh. Powerslave spawned a new platinum-selling album for the band on the back of the biggest heavy metal tour and stage set of the 1980s. The album also marked the end of Maiden’s pure heavy metal era.
