The infamous Swedish metal chainsaw guitar sound has come a long way since its origins on demos by teenage death metal terrors Nihilist in the late 1980s. Brought to prominence by Stockholm death metal bands including Entombed and Dismember, the sound of a Boss HM2 guitar distortion pedal with all knobs to the right has been tweaked and perfected over three decades by bands across the world and across the heavy spectrum. Join us for a dirty, sawing, glorious rasping hour of chainsaw guitars from Entombed, Dismember, Nirvana 2002, Interment, Tyrant, Bloodbath, Fuming Mouth, the pre-Ghost band Repugnant, Black Breath, Lik, Entrails, and more! Know your Roots!

Read about Leif Cuzner, Nihilist, Sunlight Studios, and the the birth of the Swedish metal chainsaw guitar sound in SWEDISH DEATH METAL, by Daniel Ekeroth.
